U.S. Coast Guard Maritime Cybersecurity Regulations

The U.S. Coast Guard’s final rule on maritime cybersecurity, effective as July 16, 2025, establishes mandatory cybersecurity requirements for U.S. flagged vessels, offshore facilities, and marine terminals. These entities are required to adopt cybersecurity plans, designate a cybersecurity officer, conduct cybersecurity training and exercises, and implement technical safeguards, with compliance deadlines extending through July of 2027.
